This is a Grower’s Choice item, meaning you will receive a healthy, high-quality cutting selected directly from our top mother plants. Because this is a live, variegated plant, each leaf features a unique distribution of silver and cream patterning.
- Option A: Sphagnum Moss (Recommended): Moisten premium long-fibered sphagnum moss and squeeze out all excess water so it is damp, not wet. Place the moss in a small plastic cup or prop box, bury the node gently, and keep the leaf exposed. Keep under bright, indirect light and maintain high humidity.
- Option B: Water Propagation: Submerge just the node and aerial root nub in a small vessel of clean, room-temperature water. Ensure the leaf petiole remains completely out of the water to prevent rot. Change the water every 3 to 5 days.
- Option C: Perlite or Stratum: Fill a small container with damp perlite or Fluval Stratum. Bury the node securely. Keep a shallow reservoir of water at the very bottom of the cup to maintain consistent moisture.
- Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight. High-quality, filtered light is essential to maintain and boost the striking cream and silver variegation. Avoid harsh, direct afternoon sun.
- Soil Mix: Always use a highly airy, chunky, and well-draining substrate. Mix a standard houseplant soil base with plenty of orchid bark, perlite, and horticultural charcoal.
- Watering: Allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out between waterings. Use the "taco test"—if the leaf feels pliable and easily folds horizontally, it’s time to water.
- Humidity & Temp: Thrives best in warmth (70°F–86°F) and elevated humidity (60%+).
- Growth Support: As a natural climber, providing a moss pole or cedar totem will encourage the vines to attach, allowing the heart-shaped leaves to grow significantly larger over time.
